In the meantime it has become a ritual for me, namely cleaning the tongue daily just after getting up. I’ve been doing it for several years and I always have it with me whenever I stay overnight. I couldn’t live without it anymore. It’s like brushing your teeth in the morning.

WHY CRAPING YOUR TONGUE EVERY MORNING?

Following Ayurvedic health teachings, it is recommended to remove “ama” on the tongue daily, as “ama” (toxic waste) comes out through the tongue.

If you don’t remove it, it will come back into your digestive system and that’s not good for your health.

WHICH TONGUE SCRAPERS TO USE?

You can buy plastic or copper tongue scrapers.

For hygienic reasons I recommend copper. Why?

Favorable effect on the tongue, because the metal has a very good effect on the release of the “ama”.?

Scratches on a plastic scraper come from daily use, so that bacteria remain on your scraper and you just don’t want that.

Plastic is enough in the world already and copper lasts much longer.

The copper version is more affordable and durable.

HOW TO USE?

Use the tongue scraper daily before eating and/or drinking, so it’s best right after getting up.

Then you can apply oil pulling. See blog

Start scraping completely from the back to the front several times. (The bacteria are mainly located at the back of the tongue.) You will normally see “ama” on your scraper the first 3 times, the more you scrape the less “ama” will appear. Know that your type of food also determines this, so eating healthy will cause less “ama”. If you intend to vomit, exhale as you scrape. It takes some practice, but believe me, once you start scratching, you’ll never go back!

Clean the tongue scraper under cold water.

Clean your mouth with water.

You can now apply oil pulling if you wish.

ADVANTAGES:

Fresh breath!

Taste: Our tongue belongs to the taste buds, but if your taste buds are covered in grime, chances are you won’t be able to fully appreciate it.

Digestion: Decreased taste also leads to impaired digestion. Why our digestive system? It already starts in the mouth. After all, our saliva is full of enzymes that break down food. The cleaner your mouth, the better you can taste your food and the better the digestion.

Plaque: The dirtier your tongue is, the more plaque will build up on your teeth. And that not only leads to bad breath, but also tooth decay!

General health: According to many studies, poor oral hygiene is linked to many other diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and even infertility.

Good luck!
